What is trust? How do we know if we can trust someone?
I have seen one or more counselors for about 4 of the last 6.5 years. I experienced several major traumas in that time. If I did not go to counseling and get treatment for Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, I was going to die, it was that straightforward. When I stopped going to counseling it was not my choice, an abusive ex-spouse prevented me from accessing healthcare. The only time I voluntarily stopped going for some months here and there, I needed a short break from doing the exhausting work of healing and treating CPTSD. For me, this includes building myself as a new person entirely.
